Sexy China

I’m a bit astonished.

China if you happen not to know is considered as the world’s largest country when it comes to population count. With more than 1.3 billion people, who would have thought that they were not able to create a single good looking car? With all those people, its amazing how not a single one of them were able to make a good looking car.

In view of this, my attention was drawn over the blog which I am currently reading right now. China has now their very own Geely Tiger GT which is the first sexy and cool car to ever come from a Chinese car manufacturer. It was released during the 2008 Beijing Auto Show which amazingly gained a lot of supporter and eventually became the star of the night against its competitors which includes Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Porsche.

Here is the quote about the vehicle I found at the site.

As for performance, it is rumored to be powered by a 3.5 liter V-6 engine that produces 225 horsepower and 340 pound-feet torque. Again, no concrete details but it’s supposed to have a 0-60 mph time in about 5.5 seconds, and a final top speed of around 155. Not too impressive performance-wise, but it’s the styling that blows crowds away.

The Tiger, however, is a car I would be proud to own, and if its styling is any indication, then I think that China could make its mark on the auto industry yet.

Out-of-date Update

I know this is not new anymore, but still I want to blog about it. Pardon my being not the early-bird-kind, anyway as they say, its better late than sorry so here I go!

Honda had just launched a new ad campaign for their Accord based on Skydiving. You can look for the video at Youtube. The video itself actually doesn’t possess even the slightest indication of it being from Honda since it would merely allow users to go to DifficultIsWorthDoing.com. Once you go to this site, it will just appear to be a basic blog about skydiving but a wiser man would definitely observe that the Honda logo in the header as well as there is a build-up for the new Accord.

Green and Mean

This is amazingly one of the best vehicle I’ve seen in my entire life..

Mean and green, exactly something that will allow your eyes to drool.

This model is known as the Scorpion which was created by Ronn Motor Company (RMC), and is expected to be created this fall perhaps by October or so. Unless your blind, you need not to wait for other to tell you how good looking this vehicle is since it is entirely a stunning car that possess a looks to compete with any exotic, but it’s the mechanics that are the real beauty.

This model is the living proof that environmentally friendly cars don’t have to be sluggish and disgustingly ugly. This car is a hybrid, but above anything else, it is run by hydrogen. Yes, you can let your eyes roll now! Goodness I really want to have this model!!! Actually, it runs on a 30-40% hydrogen/gasoline blend.

As anyone would know, almost all kinds of hydrogen cars do make use of fuel cells, a extraordinary but expensive system that should needs to be improved. In this method, hydrogen will enter the fuel cell in where it is electrochemically changed into electricity that is used to powers the car.

The specs are:

Price: $150,000 (estimate)

Engine: 3.5 liter V-6

Top Speed: 200+ mph

Horsepower: 450

Torque: 302 lb-ft.

0-60 mph: 3.5 seconds

Mileage: 40+ mpg

I really want to have one. I just hope my money would suffice enough to allow me to buy such a remarkable and I would say extremely gorgeous model! I can’t wait to see the actual model! I really could not wait!!!!!

PS: as much as I want to provide a picture, I cant find the one that I’ve seen before…my apology.

Matchbox

One of my friend gave me a Matchbox toys for a token and I love it. Somehow it had satisfies my cravings for vehicles. If I could not actually get one model then for sure I can buy this cute matchbox to enjoy the feeling of having a new collection.

Matchbox is a die cast toy brand currently owned by Mattel, Inc. Matchbox toys were so named because the original models were packed in boxes similar in size and style to boxes of matches. The series became so popular that the Matchbox name was once widely used by the public as a genericized trademark for all die cast toy cars measuring approximately 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) in length, regardless of brand. In the 1970s, Matchbox switched to the more conventional, plastic and cardboard "blister packs" used for other die cast cars such as Hot Wheels, although the box style packaging was re-introduced for the collector market in recent years, particularly successfully with the release of the "35th Anniversary of Superfast" series in 2004.

I remember the toy given to me by my dad when I am still young. I love reminiscing the past, it allows me to bring back to my ‘past-me’ someone who had been so brave in struggling to live a normal life despite the abnormalities of my being.

Thanks for the toy Ladee!

Ferrari Aiming for a New Affordable Model?

Really? hmmm

Rumor has it around, it’s flooding the internet, I saw many blogs that feature this topic. They say that Ferrari is on their way in developing a new entry level. It is expected to be a 2+2 V8 hardtop convertible which is aimed to be released on the American market in 2009, although Europe has to have it bit earlier.

Rumors say that the new member of Ferrari will be called the Dino, which is aimed to be one of the most good-looking Ferrari’s ever made. Lets just wait and see the result after all, 2009 is just a year ahead. I hope its really going to be cheaper but without sacrificing the quality. Im itching here, I cant wait to see it!

Buzz..Buzz..Buzz

JAY LENO TOLD DETROIT TO MAKE BETTER CARS!!!

Intriguing. Come on, he must have been taking ‘courage supplements’ to talk this way. What do you think?

"It ain't that hard folks -- make better cars."—these are the same words dubbed by famous late-night television host and car collector. The hosts said that he believes that there aint nobody who builds trucks as competent as Americans do; he took Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado as examples. He also added that when it comes to performance, American make also lead the scene "The Corvette Z06 has 505 horsepower, comes with a big warranty, and can hit 200 miles per hour. It weighs almost exactly the same as a half-million-dollar Porsche Carrera GT and gets higher mileage - 26 miles per gallon," words that were exactly utter by Leno.

Conversely, he added that Americans are such a failure when making economy cars "In order to make the more expensive car more appealing, U.S. companies feel as though they have to dumb down the cheaper car. When you get into a high-priced, well-made American car today and the key is in the ignition, you hear a melodic bong, bong. But when you get in a cheap American car, like a rental, and the key is left in, it goes plink, plink, and plink. It's just horrible. Every time you use the turn signal, it's like breaking a chicken leg."

With this, he suggests that the Detroit should follow the track created by Harley-Davidson, which had been noted before to have turned around its quality-control problems thus becomes as the market leader. The host further suggests "I believe that, all things being equal, Americans will buy American. It just has to be as good as the competition; it doesn't have to be better."

TRIVIA

For fun, I decided to post this trivia which I found from other site. have fun readers!

Top fuel dragsters accelerate at up to 5g from standing start. The nitromethane injection produces 6000 BHP.

The fastest time for removing a car engine, and replacing it is 42 seconds for a Ford Escort, on 21 November 1985.

An airbag moves up to 4500 mph within a second when triggered. A force of 200g is generated. They are designed to explode at an impact speed of 19 mph. The bag inflates within 40 milliseconds of a crash.

The Ferrari Formula 1 team is unique in the fact that it produces both chassis and engines for its cars.

Ferrari makes a maximum of 14 cars every day.

There were only 107 models of the Ford GT40 made of which only 7 were road cars.

The Worlds longest traffic hold-up was 110 miles long, between Paris and Lyon on the French Autoroute in 1980. A more recent contender for the title was a 100 mile long traffic Jam, near Hamburg in Germany in 1993.

The first known automobile was built in 1668, it was a two foot long steam powered model constructed by Ferdinand Verbiest, a Belgian Jesuit preist.

Luxembourg has the most crowded roads in Europe with 570 cars per 1,000 people.

The first car race ever seen in the United States was held in Chicago in 1895. The track ran from Chicago to Evanston. The winner was J. Frank Duryea, whose average speed was 71.5 miles per hour.

In 1924 a Ford automobile cost $265.

The first auto insurance policy is purchased in Westfield, MA, in 1897

Audi RS8

Just in case you are thinking that Audi would stop creating good cars after the popularity brought by their Audi R8 then you better think again. Good for the company since they now want to create a newer and upgraded version of their R8 which they will call as the Audi RS8.

If you will put these two models side by side, the 2009 Audi RS8 will still projects a more influential twin-turbo V-10 engine that is longed to create 580 hp. Amazing, right? Come to think of this, the new model has110 hp more than the first thus you can expect to drive as you would do with a Lamborghini Gallardo. The new model is also expected to run the speed of over 200 mph and it can hit 60 mph in an inspiring time of 4.0 seconds. Whew!! I can now imagine myself riding this. But wait, of course any model that is able to create such power is expected to heat up easily, Audi has an answer to this since it is mounted with better and more advanced cooling components in order to prevent it from heating up and catching fire once it hit the street.

Let me clear it again, this model is expected to be release next year but I just cant wait..

Zonda Cinque

If you are the type of person who would drool over limited edition cars or perhaps you just want to be noted on the street, then you must probably always on a search for supercar. Do you still remember the moment when Bugatti in 2007 planned to create an ultra-expensive vehicle? Tough luck since Pagani is also aiming for such with the whole new Zonda Cinque. You must not have heard enough about this vehicle but anyone who know this would love the fact that it is a street legal version of the new Zonda R.

So what does this car have to offer? MANY!

First thing first, it has a new carbon-titanium composite which was particularly designed for the Cinque by Pagani model itself. As expected, this material is much much lighter and tougher if compared to the carbon fiber. There is also a Cima sequential six speed, titanium and magnesium composite suspension and many new features. Now let’s go to the engine. It is mounted with 7.3 liter V12 that is skilled to pump out 678 stallions and 575 pound-feet of torque. Its highest speed falls on 217 mph.

Here are the SPECS:

Price: $1.5 million

Engine: 7.3 liter V12

Top Speed: 217 mph

Horsepower: 678

Torque: 575 pound-feet

0-60 mph: around 3.3 seconds

Oh my I’m drooling again…

Color and Accident

Are you aware that the color of your ride seriously increases the probability of meeting an accident while you drive? This is not some kind of a joke.

Based on the survey done by Churchill Motor Insurance, they found out that there is a direct correlation in terms of car color and accident frequency. Black are twice expected to be involved in accidents, same with the color cream.

According to the survey, the list are the colors that are expected to have an ill fate on the road.

1. Black
2. Silver
3. Green
4. Yellow
5. Blue
6. Grey
7. Red
8. Pink
9. White
10. Cream

Personality Car

Cars come in wide range of colors. If you are in a car market to buy your dirivng machine, one of the most common problems you have to deal to is to choose your car color.

What is the color of your car? Mine is black, red, pink, beige and white.

The color of your ride depicts your personality. Read the list below and see if it really suits yours

Black cars denote an aggressive personality or someone who's an outsider or rebel.

Silver cars indicate someone who's cool, calm and slightly aloof.

Green cars can often be chosen by people with hysterical tendencies.

Yellow cars signify someone who is idealistic and novelty loving.

Blue cars are chosen by the more introspective, reflective and cautious driver.

Gray cars represent those who are calm, sober and dedicated to their work.

Red cars denote those who are full of zest, energy and drive and who think, move and

talk quickly.

Pink cars are chosen by gentle, loving and affectionate drivers.

White cars represent status-seeking extrovert drivers.

Cream cars are the least likely to be involved in accidents and denote self-contained and

controlled owners.

So mine would be:

-I agree the aggressive personality that black connotes.

-The color of red agree to my personality of being a thinker though I’m not really that active.

-Pink agrees to my gentleness

-white is for status seeker and that’s ME!

-beige, no description.

Vehicle Accident

Last time, I’ve posted about my encounter of a man who happens to meet an accident along the way due to his desperate attempt to use his cell phone while driving. In view of this, I decided to write about the common road accidents so people would be alerted on how to prevent these things from happening.

Let me first ask mister wiki of car accident description: car accident is a road traffic incident which usually involves at least one road vehicle being in collision with, either another vehicle, another road user, or a stationary roadside object, and which may result in injury or property damage. Phrases used to describe accidents include: auto accident, car crash, car smash, car wreck, fender bender, motor vehicle accident (MVA), personal injury collision (PIC), road accident, road traffic accident (RTA), road traffic collision (RTC), road traffic incident (RTI), traffic collision.

As simple as it may sound, people are aware that most of the time, this simple happening can lead to death. More and more people falls victim, each year the number of road accidents never seem to go down. It does not choose its victims; in fact much renowned personality had also suffered the same fate. Consider the case of Louis IV of France who passed on his life in 1954 when he falls down from his horse. Same fate was experience William I during 1087 and William III in the year 1702. On present days, perhaps the most controversial road accident happened to Princess Diana.

There are many underlying causes of road accidents; one is driving in the influence of alcohol which contributes partly to about 93% of crashes. Anyone knows the fact that driving and alcohol just can’t get along. Accidents due to alcohol results to about 100,000 accidents every year in United States alone, this is based on the study done by the U.S. National Traffic Safety Administration. Authority found out that there is a higher risk when driving around 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. This is the time when people should suppose to go to their bed and sleep therefore they become drowsy on street.

Fatigue is another factor for road accidents. Some signs to watch out for before attempting to drive which may indicate fatigue are heavy eyelids, a drifting vehicle that wanders over road lines, frequent yawning, misjudging traffic situations, varying vehicle speed for no reason, seeing things "jump out" in the road, or irritable and daydreaming. If you sense that you are having these kinds of problem then it is better to do the following:

· Take a break from driving at least every two hours.

· Get a good night's sleep before a long trip.

· Share the driving whenever possible.

· Avoid long drives after work.

· Avoid drinking before driving.

· Pull over and stop when drowsiness, discomfort or loss of concentration occurs.

· Find out whether any medicine you are taking may affect your driving.

Sourced from: http://www.sixwise.com/newsletters/05/07/20/the_6_most_common_causes_of_automobile_crashes.htm

Moreover, speeding can also be another problem. In fact, this is a multi-tiered threat seeing the fact that it does not merely reduce the amount of time needed to keep away from experiencing crash on the road but rather it also increases the danger of crashing. Driving in high speed is also the same as aggressive driving, the two are highly dangerous. So if you want to preserve your life, better act with cautious within the road. Life is too precious, take care of it.

Drive safely. Do not attempt to make the road your racing arena, at least think about the life of other people.

Cellphone and Driving

Yesterday, I happen to come across an accident on the street although it is not something which means life and dead, I hurriedly cross the street to see what happened. It was a man on his late 40s, smiling like crazy after he loss track of his driving, telling people its ‘alright’ because he’s good as new. Perplexed by the scene, I sneak over the conversation of the police and this not-so-insane man, I heard the man was talking on the phone with his wife when he started to be so caught up in the conversation and BOOM he met an accident. Cellphone while driving? I could almost roll my eyes in front of this careless living creature standing in front of me.

Although I consider myself as a pro when it comes to driving, I think being new to it should not be use as an excuse for doing such an unforgiving act while traveling on the road. For once, come to think about other people around you. What if a child crossed on the street and you’re too busy talking on the phone? What if you hit such an innocent child? And you started to blame their parents of being irresponsible for allowing the child to go out on the street alone. Although the parents have their own fault, still you cannot blame the entire things to them.

Cellphone and driving just don’t mix.

Here are some rules to guide you:

· 5 states (California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Washington), the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands have enacted jurisdiction-wide cell phone laws prohibiting driving while talking on handheld cell phones.

· With the exception of Washington State, these laws are all primary enforcement—an officer may ticket a driver for using a handheld cell phone while driving without any other traffic offense taking place.

· 17 states and the District of Columbia have special cell phone driving laws for novice drivers.

· School bus drivers in 15 states and the District of Columbia are prohibited from all cell phone use when passengers are present, except for in emergencies.

· Washington, Minnesota and New Jersey are the only states to ban text messaging for all drivers, but other states are expected to follow suit.

· New Jersey has primary enforcement—an officer may ticket a driver for texting while driving without any other traffic offense taking place. Washington's law is secondarily enforced.

Teens Without License

According to the survey done by Federal Highway Administration, the number is declining when it comes to teens that are getting their driver license. Sad truth. Back then, almost a half of kids ages 16 years had them but now, it’s continuing to go down. I can’t get the real logic behind. Why are kids getting this feeling that it is not really necessary to get driver’s license? I guess its because of the increasing cost of getting one or it may be because of the fact that they’re too lazy to even spend their time just to get seek a license for himself. Probably, another factor could be because they love the thrill that it gives them. You know, driving around the town with their peers, getting over with the local police, stuffs like these can really be exciting, I admit.

It is also a way to go away with mom and dad! Funny.

This is out of order. I guess authorities should be stricter this time; parents should also their means to prevent their kids from fooling around authorities. After all, when accidents happen it is only the time when they would regret their action and too bad, the regret comes late. School should also play their part. Why not instill to these kids the fact that driving around without a license isn’t fun at all?

Surely, this is not an overnight problem. Sooner it will get worse, its better to act as early as NOW than regret the fact of being too careless.

Did I buy the Nano?

Back then, I’ve written here at my blog about my interest of buying the cheapest car in the whole universe! Well, I admit I wanted to make a scene. I wanted people to see that despite the price, it can still give the sense of pride and honor one would most likely get when they are traveling down the busy street. So, did I buy the Nano? YES!! this is what my new pet looks like

click on the image for the source

For a developing country like India, I’m glad they were able to come up with an inexpensive mode of transportation in order for any people could afford. You could not ask anything else more, there is enough room for the family, and there is still room to house other supplies. The features and contours are sleek and neat; in fact, you would not even think that it is available for such a small price!

The question now, could this small vehicle bring me to work? Yes it can. In fact, it is created to function like the rest of vehicle models do. I’ll be forever be grateful to its manufacturer, it haven’t hurt my budget but in return it gave me the satisfaction that I need.

Of course when you compare it to other expensive vehicle on the street, you’ll definitely choose the other but with the price of the Nano, why should I ask for more? This is an advancement of science that we should all be proud of and I wish the manufacturer would find their way to export this model to other developing countries so ordinary people will have a taste of how it is to drive a four-wheeled vehicle.

Til then! My dad asked me if we could road test my Nano.

P.S. I think daddy’s proud of my choice, I could see it in his smile. lolz!

Smart Car Still Alive After Hitting Two Trucks

When you are driving a small car and suddenly a big one overtake you, a feeling of worry would usually envelop your system. This is not a bizarre feeling at all because who would want to be sweep away with these giants of the street? The news on the web weeks ago strike my attention the most, a smart car was hit by two trucks but end up alive! Amazingly true! I thought small vehicles are like a weakling on the street that would not even dare to protect their user.

The picture says it all; it is a true to life world crash test utilizing the ever nice Mercedes Benz Smart ForTwo city car. This incident took place somewhere in North America. The actual happening took place when a Smart ForTwo got rear-ended was hit by huge GMC box truck which more or less weights a total of 10 to 12 thousand pounds.

With the said incident, it had only proven that despite the size, Mercedes Benz sure that they are created in accordance to the toughness that will protect its occupants in case of collision or crash. My friend actually owns this model so I had to go straight to their house to see the actual look of this amazing driving machine. When I got to touch them, the very first thing that enters my mind is the fact that even a people merely by touching the vehicle could attest on how sturdy it is. It feels rigid and strong.

I think, this is what vehicles should make of. I’m glad that despite their size, the company had exerted much of their effort in ensuring its toughness With this, kudos to Mercedes Benz for proving that they are still indeed the best in the industry! .

F1 Video Game; Now with Codemasters

Aren’t you’re one of those people who are sweep on their feet the moment when they play racing video game? In this game, you don’t have to worry about police racing your way merely because you violated the speed limit of the road, a typical scene in life. With this, speed is the game and it is your speed which will determine your fate. The faster you are the better chance you have in winning.

Its official! For this season, Codemaster won the bid for Formula 1 video games. The company triumphantly won over Sony after the later wished to renewing the ridiculously high bid. Lucky for Codemaster, they were able to get the right mix to finally allow Bernie Ecclestone to give them the right to license the fame. With this, people can expect a whole new game this time, it could be better or worse, who knows?

However, Codemaster, thrilled with the thought that they finally won the most coveted chance to finally host the game told the media about their intention that they will exhaust all means just to give every costumer the fun that they want as they try to fill up all the flaws seen on the previous games when it was still hosted by Sony. They proclaim that the F1 game will be created multi-platform which simply connotes that if in case you own any portable gaming system, next-generation console, or even a PC competent enough to host gaming then there is a big chance that you can triumphantly pick up the new F1 game from Codemasters. It is not a surprising idea that the company won the bid seeing that Codemasters would fork over the dough just to get the cherries on top. They are the same company behind the development of Colin McRae and Race Driver games.

“Formula One is ambitious in expanding its reach with more circuits planned beyond recent additions in the Middle East and China. It is also ambitious in expanding its reach via technology. The digital communities that computer and video gaming creates will play a key role in further growing the Formula One audience and connecting them globally,” these words were uttered by Rod Cousen which is the chief executive officer of Codemasters.

They further said that with the success, brings the dedication to face the challenge better. “The combination of Formula One’s new momentum of expansion and Codemasters’ contemporary technology and past experience is the breaking of a new dawn for the sport, on the track and on the HD game screen.”- by Chris Deering, chairman, Codemasters.

The said wiining gave Codemaster the chance to feature all Grand Prix circuits, Formula One teams, driver, and likenesses. They said that the championship game will be patterned along with the EGO Game which is the best so far in the industry. Looking for means wherein they can employ advanced graphics as well as physics technology so they could provide the best and perhaps the unmatched cinematic excellence to people most specially gamers.

With this, reviewers will most likely expect a rise in the demand of the newly released F1 game once it comes into the real world. Perhaps, it will be another best-seller. Lets just hope and pray that Codemaster will be able to stick with their words as soon as they release their version and I just hope that will exceed all features offered by Sony.

F1 race had always been fun, and Codemaster promises to provide more fun and excitement in obstacles placed in every laps and roads that the player will meet. Lets wait and see…

Drive me Nuts

I’m a speed buff, I rarely use the AC when I travel instead I take pleasure of how the wind sweep into my hair as it tries to caress my emotion. Lately, I’ve been intrigue of knowing what the fastest car is ever made so I tried to do some research and here is what I found:

On Sept. 13, 2007, the Shelby SuperCars' Ultimate Aero became the fastest production car in the world. The event took place on a temporarily closed, two-lane stretch of public highway in Washington State. In accordance with Guinness World Records' strict policies, the car had to drive down the highway, turn around, and make a second pass in the opposite direction within one hour.

The Ultimate Aero posted 257.41 mph on the first pass and 254.88 mph on the second for an average of 256.18 mph. Official data were collected via a GPS tracking system from Austrian data acquisition company Dewetron. Guinness World Records later verified data for an official top-speed announcement on Oct. 9, 2007. At that speed the Ultimate Aero broke the official record held by the Koenigsegg CCR (242 mph) and the unofficial record (253 mph) held by Volkswagen's $1.6 million Bugatti.

And the car could go even faster. NASA's wind tunnel testing facility in Langley, Va., found the Ultimate Aero to be aerodynamically stable at speeds up to 273 mph. It just ran out of road. "If there was additional straight pavement on which to accelerate, the top speed would have been considerably higher, so if anyone challenges our record there is tons left on the table," says Chuck Bigelow, the brave soul who piloted the Ultimate Aero on its record-breaking run.

Amphibious Cars

note: click on the image for the source

Wouldn’t it be nice to own a vehicle that travel on land and water? They are called amphibious cars meant to travel both on land and water just like an amphibian. But do not confuse them on classic landing craft because they are usually not considered amphibious vehicles rather they are merely an attempt to create vehicles that can travel on both surfaces. Because more and more people are getting into the craze of creating vehicles using highly efficient technological skills, they starts to desire to expand the off-road capabilities of land-vehicles into a whole new "all-terrain" capability. They are not only trying to make vehicles that can transport on land and water, but including other factors such as ice, mud, marsh, snow, swamp, and many more.

What I read before is that almost all land vehicles are potential candidate to be made into amphibious kind by merely mounting waterproof hull and a propeller. If the vehicle volume is larger than its displacement then it will result to floating. However, for those heavily created vehicles, they call for additional buoyancy measures in order to float.

One of the earliest known amphibious vehicles was created by Neapolitan Prince Raimondo di Sangro of Sansevero. However, the first self-propelled amphibious vehicle known in history is the Orukter Amphibolos, which is basically a steam-powered wheeled dredging barge, created in United States. Records show that it was designed by Oliver Evans in 1805. However, there was a lot of controversy that this vehicle had potentially traveled over land or water under its own steam. The record for proof is vague so people cannot really prove this claim.

I wonder if I can own this kind of vehicle someday. Lets see.

Drag Racing

My body still aches up this very moment I’m trying to jot down this post. I had so much fun last night, so much fun that I’ve forgot all about my alcohol limit. Driving and alcohol don’t mix, I know and I’m not guilty of committing such crime! Never been and will never ever commit such foolishness. I’ve seen hundreds or make it thousands of life wasted merely by watching every day’s news. I don’t want to become the next victim of it and please spare my cars from experiencing such a deadly harm. lolz

I friend Sophie visited our house last night and ask if I can accompany her to her latest addiction, street drag racing! The sound of it makes me shiver, I’ve been driving ever since but I never surrendered myself to that kind of ‘good times’. But curious, she eventually persuaded me to join them. It was fun!!

About Drag Racing

Drag race is all about acceleration contest from a standing start between two vehicles within a measured distance. Mostly, quarter-mile (1,320 feet) or an eighth-mile (660 feet) is the acknowledged standard for that distance. If in case of losing, the driver will be eliminated while the winning one will progress to the next level until one driver remains.

The race is started by a device better known as Christmas Tree mainly because it is a multicolored starting lights. On the sides of the Tree, there are seven lights, the two small amber lights at the top of the fixture and the remaining three are larger LED lights.

The person who will reach the finish line first will be declared as the winner. However, if such driver had violated some rules like for example he runs quicker than its dial-in or index, the winning will be forfeited. Moreover, if the racer suddenly left the starting line too soon, touched the guardwall or guardrail, and many more, he will not be proclaim as the winner because he violated the rules.

It was indeed fun! My friend Sophie won the race but despite all the fun and excitement I felt that as if some thing is telling me that it is not a good act that young generations should do. I guess it because of the safety concerns I have towards it. You see, racing in such speed can cause unseen accidents and who knows if your life is at the line? I would love to see these races shown on TV, a replay of NASCAR event would be great but on real life? It’s bothering me.

Driving entails a greater responsibility. You drive to go to places, to enjoy things cleanly and NOT to put your life at the risk. I felt bad about these people who would first drink before commencing the race; no doubt vehicle accidents would increase in number in just a minute.

Sad to say, accidents rarely happen because of the vehicle but they take place because of the irresponsibility of drivers. Have a clean fun as much as possible! I swear, I’ll never be on such event again. Its hard thinking that you are screaming in great hope for your friend to win but deep inside something within you is being torn apart, greatly wishing that accidents would not come your friend’s way.

This post is dedicated for speed-maniacs; life should be cherished above all. Never take the risk and never give up your life merely for the name of fun. Foolish fun. Life is beautiful after all, take care of it. Drive safely and in the right speed.

What makes BMW popular?

Last night my friend gave me a call asking what brand of vehicle should she buy. Without any hinch of doubt, I told her to just go for BMW models. And she told me that she had asked a bunch of people and most of them would tell her to just go for BMW.

So what is really on BMW that make it popular?

I don’t know for some but for me, I think it’s the look, reliability, performance, safety and not to mention the X-factor. I’ve brought my second hand 3-series model 3 years ago but up to now, I’m still drooling over its good look and sophistication. If I have the money, I’ll buy another BMW for sure.

Water for Gas

Fuel cost would escalate in a blink of an eye! And so I found myself sitting here in front of the computer trying to research if water is feasible enough to be used as gasoline? Some would smile on this thought but for those who had already heard about the invention, surely this is not a new thing for you. I just could not understand why such invention was never approved by the government to be used on public vehicles.

The technology of using water as a fuel had in fact been around for a long time. In fact, many inventors had successfully done this to their vehicle and the result is remarkable! Are you still in doubt? Then a simple search on youtube or google perhaps using the words "water for fuel" or else "water gas" will essentially gives you many videos on how people truly invented hydrogen engines or engines that produce hydroxy. I’ve watched all those videos patiently and as expected, I want to talk to even one of those investors to test their invention on my vehicles! This spells big savings!

Aside from a great deal of money that you could save, the end result also produces cleaner air that would surely lessen the damage brought by technology to our environment. On my previous posts, I’ve tackled about those bad effects that could be given by those highly damaging exhausts to the air. I guess the moment when we start using water as an alternative to fuel; Mother Nature will start to love us more therefore there will be highly reduced natural calamities. I have this feeling that this sounds like the solution to the world's global energy crisis and global warming problems.

Ok everyone would agree that the technology is great but why is it the technology so comparatively unknown to people these days? I think the reason behind this is the fact or perhaps my presumption that oil companies do not want this technology to grow because they are afraid of the impact it will cause to their sourced of living. They will lose economic dominance in the energy market which will surely spell trouble for them. Come to think, water as fuel will reap such powerful benefits that might entirely wipe these oil companies out of the automotive business or at least decrease a huge part of the pie share. This is definitely one of their greatest fears so they suppressed the technology.

Water is everywhere and it is also recyclable while fossil fuels are damaging to the environment and they cost high!

Aircon Busted

Just a quick post before I leave for the mechanic, my Chevy’s AC was busted! I was feeling really hot while inside the cabin. Too bad its summer! So I have to drop at the nearest mechanic for a repair!

PS: please check every part of your vehicle to avoid problem like this.

The Kid in Me

I’m a grown up! For heaven’s sake I’m on my early 20s but last night as I watch my niece watch Disney Car movie, something in me was so caught up with the scene. I even sat in front of the television thinking what if all my vehicles would talk? What am I going to call them? Will they race with one another or would they simply stood there at our parking lot just like what they are doing now? I guess it would be nice if they’ll have a Car Community or whatever they want to call it wherein they’ll interact with one another and made me their queen! Enough of my fantasy! Hey you can’t blame me after all, the movie was great!

I know I’m being childish but let me do this even once. Let me give you a quick rundown of the main character o the movie:

Lighting McQueen- He’s the main character here. He’s actually a racing car and if this character is a real car model, I guess he would look like this:

In the movie he is sometimes names as “stickers’ by Sally. Based on my research Lighting McQueen was named after the Glenn McQueen which is a Pixar animator who died due to melanoma on October 2002. Basically, the main character of the movie was inspired by Ford GT40 although he has an attribute similar to a Ford Mustang.

The moral lesson of the story: APPRECIATE EVERYONE.

Addition to my Collection

I’ve been working like crazy these past few days! You know why? I am eyeing over a new car. I think it would be nice to buy something new after all the toils and exhaustions. I’m thinking of getting the cheapest car ever!

I want to get the Tata Nano simply because I am intrigued of what it can give and perhaps because I want to collect those vehicles that falls on the ‘extremes’. Actually, I never really seen an actual model of the vehicle but just seeing the pictures on the web, I guess they’re totally cute and lovable! And of course not to mention, they won’t hurt your budget. Better known as the People’s Car, the model is available for 100,000 rupees which is also the price of DVD player in a Lexus! See the difference? I’m really going to have this model now!lolz Its 3 meters long that can contain four or five people comfortably on place which is potent enough to travel 65mph.

Actually, I first heard about the vehicle from a friend, the very first thing I ask was, ‘why NANO?’ I mean with millions of words that you can use on the vehicle, why did the manufacturer ever thought about naming the vehicle as Tata Nano, I think it sounds a bit hilarious. Of course, I had to google the name and I found out that the prefix Nano was derived from the word ‘nanos’ which is a Greek terms that means dwarf- I guess it all makes sense. Also, in Gujarati, nano also means small.

Let me show you the interior:

As you can see, the interior is not as chic like what you can expect to Dodge and Ford vehicles but with the price like that, what would you ask for more? Im so excited to get my model!

Less Driving, More Benefit

It’s been too long since I had time to update my blog…

Let me tackle now about the health benefit of driving less.
Surely, I love to drive. There is no doubt about it! Its just that I tried to watch the news a while ago and I was something stricken with the thought that I’m one of the main contributor of the damaged brought upon into our surroundings. Im not saying as if we should not drive at all because its one of those crazy stuffs you’ll never hear from me, it’s just that if only we could lessen our driving then we could somehow help our environment.

We don’t need any statistic to know that there are millions of vehicles traveling our street each day which may lead to pollution, noise, injuries and congestion that has already reached insufferable level as of the present time. In view of this, the moment is indeed the perfect time to rethink of the means by which we can make use of the roadways and how people can start practicing deeds which will benefit them on later days.

Study shows that there is various health problems associated with car-centered communities. I am really bothered by this thought. I guess if the study was given way back then I could easily shake the issue out of my sleeve but not now. NOT now that the effects of pollution is highly seen on our environment. Ever heard the news about global warming and all those stuffs? It never fails to send shivers to my blood.

  • Motor vehicles are among the main source of air pollution which can lead to 1700 premature death and 6000 hospitalization each year due to air pollution.
  • World Health Organization suggest that people who live near busy traffics corridors possess 50% greater chance of incurring problems brought by pollution.
  • Some of the health conditions that could probably be suffered by people are asthma, reduced lung function, acute bronchitis, respiratory and cardiac problems, cancer and various others which may lead to reduced life span.

In Atlanta Georgia in 1996 where there was a noted decrease in people using cars, study shows that there were also lesser children who were brought into hospitals because of asthma. In my own opinion, lessening our car usage may also help boost up physical vigor. Why? Come to think of it, if we stop riding on a cabbie then we would have time to walk and run which are among the best form of exercises ever! And when they are active it will only result to less chance of suffering from stroke, heart disease, colon cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis and many others. It can also be a source of peace of mind. Just think of how much we would enjoy the idea of lesser traffic. People will also begin to become closer with one another. Ask your family or friends to join your for a walk. The idea is surely thrilling while you can also help save the environment as well as benefit from it. In fact, the WHO suggests that every people should at least bike or walk 5 kilometers a day.

There will also be a reduced traffic injury. Just switch on your television or flip the pages of your magazine, everyday you will see someone who had encountered road mishaps. Statistics says that almost 60000 traffic related injuries occurred in the year 1995 to 2005 only. You can surely prevent this from happening to you if you ride less.

I promise myself as much as possible I’ll try to lessen my driving…

Timmy on the Wheels

Diamonds are girl’s best friend? I doubt so. I’m Timmy Gray and my passion for vehicles started when I was 3. I can vividly remember when daddy gave me my very first Ferrari collectibles, mom was angry back then as she argued that a girl like me should never be introduced to toy cars. The more my mom revile daddy’s act, the more I grew fond of these shiny and sleek machine shimmering in front of my eyes.

After a year, my collectibles multiplied to a hundred and I grew excited every time my daddy went out of the country for a business meeting because surely when he arrives, he’ll bring with him a new toy car as a present.

When I reached high school and I finally have to attend my prom, guess what? My parents gave me my first Ferrari 30 Modena! Actually because of the car, I rapidly and excitedly sneak off the promenade with my prom date just for me to test drive my new babe. It was a romantic evening that I hope would never end. And what happened to my date? Well, we became officially on and he turn out to be my very first boyfriend though we just lasted for a year or so.

Since daddy is one of the most famous guys in town, I could easily get what I want. People would say that I was born with silver spoon in my mouth. I guess they’re right but still, it was too hard for me too prove my worth since I’m being overshadowed by parent’s glory. Everyone would consider me as a weak girl merely interested on makeup and glamour but as soon as I tried to do rigorous physical activity, their impression changed. I bet you’ll be amazed to know that I consider myself as an expert in terms of mechanical works. Fixing busted engines, crawling under hood, setting up bumpers...you name it, Timmy can surely do it! Now, I still have my old model though daddy promised me to get a new one soon.
