My body still aches up this very moment I’m trying to jot down this post. I had so much fun last night, so much fun that I’ve forgot all about my alcohol limit. Driving and alcohol don’t mix, I know and I’m not guilty of committing such crime! Never been and will never ever commit such foolishness. I’ve seen hundreds or make it thousands of life wasted merely by watching every day’s news. I don’t want to become the next victim of it and please spare my cars from experiencing such a deadly harm. lolz
I friend Sophie visited our house last night and ask if I can accompany her to her latest addiction, street drag racing! The sound of it makes me shiver, I’ve been driving ever since but I never surrendered myself to that kind of ‘good times’. But curious, she eventually persuaded me to join them. It was fun!!
About Drag Racing
Drag race is all about acceleration contest from a standing start between two vehicles within a measured distance. Mostly, quarter-mile (1,320 feet) or an eighth-mile (660 feet) is the acknowledged standard for that distance. If in case of losing, the driver will be eliminated while the winning one will progress to the next level until one driver remains.
The race is started by a device better known as Christmas Tree mainly because it is a multicolored starting lights. On the sides of the Tree, there are seven lights, the two small amber lights at the top of the fixture and the remaining three are larger LED lights.
The person who will reach the finish line first will be declared as the winner. However, if such driver had violated some rules like for example he runs quicker than its dial-in or index, the winning will be forfeited. Moreover, if the racer suddenly left the starting line too soon, touched the guardwall or guardrail, and many more, he will not be proclaim as the winner because he violated the rules.
It was indeed fun! My friend Sophie won the race but despite all the fun and excitement I felt that as if some thing is telling me that it is not a good act that young generations should do. I guess it because of the safety concerns I have towards it. You see, racing in such speed can cause unseen accidents and who knows if your life is at the line? I would love to see these races shown on TV, a replay of NASCAR event would be great but on real life? It’s bothering me.
Sad to say, accidents rarely happen because of the vehicle but they take place because of the irresponsibility of drivers. Have a clean fun as much as possible! I swear, I’ll never be on such event again. Its hard thinking that you are screaming in great hope for your friend to win but deep inside something within you is being torn apart, greatly wishing that accidents would not come your friend’s way.
